Group Photo!
I am going to post some of my favorite old group photographs.
I am sure dad took this via automatic timer.
Look how happy everyone is!

Dear Mr. Hoover
"And he's investigated me a few times, too. J. Edgar and I are on the best of terms, I hope." James P.Ryan (quote from a letter to a friend November 21, 1961)

Dear Mr. Ryan
My father used to get a lot of "form" letter responses to his numerous letters to his representatives. But sometimes he riled them up to the point where they addressed his concerns directly; and my husband wonders where I get my "flaming liberal" tendencies.

Amsterdam/Paris circa 1966
Next week I'll be in Amsterdam and Paris with some of us Ryans.
We'll see if we can recreate these photos dad took back in the 1960's.

Happy St. Patricks Day to James Patrick Ryan!
I never knew dad was in the Boys Town Choir, did you? It would appear so from this article. The date of the article is from the Star Tribune, September 22, 1946. I scanned this a while ago and now I can not find the original. I know it's safely tucked away in one of my many storage bins, I hope. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

UPDATE: Video! (OK, so not the World Cup, and not great quality but very cool. Sound is added for effect only)

I also have some footage of Welo at the Mexico World Cup qualifying games. Will post as soon as I can clean up the clip. I need to go to Don's and get a photo of his Golden Boot too!

I'll try to look for a tape of Mom playing something from this program, but first I'll have to find out what they sound like!

Cousins
Mary Beth and Margot circa 1973
Just found this photo of me and my cousin Margot. I vaguely remember the Millot's visiting us in Arlington, VA. I only post it because I look super cute, of course.

Resolutions
I tend not to make resolutions but I really am resolved to finish posting the additional letters I found from September 1964. I only have a couple more to do and all the time in the world to get it done. Not sure why I can't seem to complete this task. Procrastination is a wonder. For those interested I back dated the posts so they appear in chronological order. So new letters can be found in the 2007 archive file.
btw Happy Birthday to Carolyn Rodriguez who will turn 98 January 21!!! I have to think she is our oldest dearest relative. Going to check the family tree now to check this out.

If you are in the mood here's a little Christmas video greeting, if not watch the first bit and fastforward to the last few minutes, (about 10:30). Audio is from December 24, 1981. These Christmas tunes and a few more can be heard or downloaded from my soundcloud page.
