Mother of the Mid-West?

sitting: Marchelina Ynclan (my 2nd great grandmother)
with her  last grandson to leave Spain, Eddie Fernandez and only daughter who stayed in Spain, Maria

Marcelina Ynclan was born in Santiago del Monte, Asturias Spain in the mid 1800s.  She and her husband Jose Menendez had five (5) children in Spain. Four (4) of those children immigrated to the United States (St. Louis area) in the very early 1900s.

Each of the four (4) children who immigrated had at least seven (7) or more children, and each line of that generation at a total of twenty (20) or more children. As an example, her daughter Perfecta, my great grandmother, had thirteen (13) children and thirty-six (36) grandchildren and at least ninety-five (95) great grandchildren are included in my family tree.

This means Marcelina had at least seventy two (72) grandchildren and about one hundred ninety-three (193) of her great grandchildren are in my records.   I doubt I could count or find all the children of those great grandchildren (which would include my mother who had seven (7) children).  My arithmetic is not exact, but you get the point, it’s a lot!

Muchas gracias Marcelina, you populated the mid-west and beyond!
