Dear Mom and Dad,

Well Barbara came home today very elated from ice-skating. She says she is doing very well and she really likes it. Tomorrow is a free day for them and am I glad. Poor Kenny is so bored at home he is driving me crazy. And at that he and MB always have a lot of fun together. They go around half the time with their arms around each other’s neck. But of course as soon as Jimmy appears on the scene K is perfectly happy being with him. Today he and Jimmy stayed out in the field next door just digging up dirt until supper time.

P continues in her inimitable style. When she asks for something she cocks her head to one side and in the sweetest tone say “Pease, Pease” But of course if you say “No” to her request she’ll throw a block at you or whatever she has in hand. Last night B. said to her “Patricia how many times do I have to tell you to stop.” and P very distinctly and loudly said “Five.”

Tonight the owner’s son came over to get some things out of the store room. He said he needed warmer clothes and gloves to get to school. It is cold rather early this year he said. Jim told him he needn’t take his folks car out of the garage as he measured and our VW bus won’t fit. So the boy said he would leave his parent’s car in the garage. Can you imagine a kid of nineteen yrs old riding a bike 5 miles or so to the Univ. in the winter with his parent’s car in the garage. The people here are very serious minded. This boy is a good looking kid and he has so much maturity for one his age. You should hear how well he speaks English.

Well I want to write to Tala so l’ll say goodnight. I’m looking for a letter from both of you soon.

Love
Jim and Dina
